How many people will call it Quits with NYX???




On Sunday May 15th NYX Cosmetic's was having  their 12th anniversary sale which sold most of the products on the website for only $1.20 this was an amazing opportunity that turned quickly into an epic disaster. They claim the server went down and the site could not handle the web traffic pushing blame to the consumer's stating it was to many people. So let's think this through NYX knows how many emails it sent out about the sale, they also know that they had...and I say had because the number keeps falling daily almost 60,000 fans on facebook, so NYX had a good estimate of how much potential traffic could be on the site, so someone somewhere in that IT Department knew the server's couldn't handle it..so why not prepare as you had this same problem in 2010 for the $1 sale and blaming that you had too much traffic come on in this economy people would kill to have that kind of traffic to there business. Anyway so hundred's, dare I say thousands of people including myself were stuck trying to navigate through a broken site, instantly receiving error messages, pages not loading, shopping cart adding more quantities then requested even worse empty shopping carts after building it for 6 hours for 4 items or someone else's order in your shopping cart and some could not even get to one page. So we all forged together on the NYX FB fan page( I say fan loosely) finding out it was not just us, hundreds constantly asking questions to NYX via FB and Twitter and really not getting any type of responses, finally we all were told the sale would be extended until Monday 12pm PST and the website would be fixed Monday Morning. Many customers now trying to order and check out for over 12, 16 and even 18 hours, so now we are at Monday morning nothing on the site has been fixed and very angry consumers start to call customer service. Being told mixed stories some to save screen shots, some that they would honor prices, some that were just plain rude and said sorry if you not check out by 12pm your out of luck. So how would most companies handle this, well I asked some top makeup companies today who had already heard about this horrendous debacle and you know what they said, they said the customers are why we are in business we would extend the sale and ensure every customer is satisfied. How did NYX resolve it you ask? sale ended so sorry to bad but for the inconvenience here is a 50% off coupon that good for only seven days. Really? so if I was going to order some things on Sunday my order was going to be $3.60 my new total with your fantastic 50% off coupon will now be $13.50, why would anyone do that?? Why not send out a $1.20 coupon limit the quantity and make your fan's happy instead of potentially losing thousands of customers and complaint's to the BBB.
